International Citizen Hub Lund aims to attract talent to the region

With the establishment of the ESS and MAX IV research facilities, the need for international specialists in Lund is on the rise. International Citizen Hub Lund, helps companies retain talent by taking care of those who follow along, namely the family. The hub is expanding its offering to now also helping businesses in Lund attract international talent.

Find people with the right skills by focusing on the family

“In order for a company to grow, it is important to find people with the right skill sets. We know that focusing on the family is one of the most crucial factors when recruiting international talent. If the family does not want to follow along, then the person with the expertise you are looking for will not come either. It is therefore very important to take care of those who follow along,” says Lisa Andersson, Talent Attraction Developer at International Citizen Hub Lund, which is marketing its expanded offering in the latest issue of the business magazine Veckans Affärer.

Kick-Start program for spouses and partners

“If we want to retain international talent, we need to take care of their families in different ways. The biggest issue that most of the family members need help with is finding a job. We have therefore put together a kick-start program consisting of ten sessions that provide effective job search tools for Sweden,” says Lisa Andersson, who moved to Sweden from the United States and knows firsthand about the challenges those who move to Sweden face.

Social and professional networks

International Citizen Hub Lund was founded in 2015 with the aim of helping companies in southern Sweden retain the international talent they recruited by creating social and professional networks for the accompanying family members. International Citizen Hub Lund is the only physical location in Sweden that works to help the accompanying family members in this way.

International Citizen Hub Lund is run by Lund Municipality in partnership with Invest in Skåne, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and the City of Malmö. The activities receive financial support from Region Skåne and the City of Malmö.

With the expansion of their offering to now also helping businesses attract talent, they are open to new collaborations with both the public and the private sector.
